Art Basel

Role: Head of Art for Digital at Leo Burnett London
I led the design and art direction for the new web platform redesign

Bringing the international artworld together online

The briefWith world-class shows in Basel, Miami Beach, and Hong Kong, Art Basel is the leading global platform for modern and contemporary art. We wanted to create a digital experience that lived up to the calibre of the fair itself.

I led the design and art direction, crafting a sleek, immersive platform worthy of the world's most influential art event.

Design with collectors and galleries in mindOver two years we worked closely with teams in the UK and across Basel, Barcelona and Cambodia to design a responsive web platform and mobile app for Art Basel. Built for their global network of galleries, staff, VIPs and collectors, it combined beauty, functionality and ease in one seamless experience.

Design that holds space, not just contentInspired by the spatial awareness and intentionality of gallery design, the layout plays with order, tension and deliberate composition.

Exposed grid lines — typically hidden — serve as visible guides, anchoring content with structure and clarity. Bright brand colours are used sparingly, acting as visual cues to aid navigation and highlight key moments.

The Art Basel AppDesigned as the ultimate companion for fairgoers, the app includes essential show info, real-time news and updates, a global catalogue of participating artworks and galleries, interactive floor plans and a full events listing for each edition of the show.
